Richard Murray is a northern Ireland based singer songwriter and session musician. His music is a unique blend of American Country Rock, Blues, and Folk, often mixed with influences from his Celtic roots. His releases have enjoyed much critical acclaim amd won him the Indie Music Award for best Alt. Country Album in 2008, and a finalist position in 2013. Richard based himself in London in 2004 and worked alongside many of the city's talent as a session musician and since 2008 he has been touring relentlessly around the world. He has performed extensively throughout Europe, China and the Middle East, while working with and writing for other artists from UK/USA including Lucy Layton, The Silver Seas, The Noise, The Fuse and 23 Skidoo. Whilst also writing for Deqoy Music, Sonata Music and Smashtrax, he has had many successful deals and placements for his music. These include MediaNet, Play Network, K Digital, Mood Media and Overhead In-Store for major US retail brands. Direct licenses include pharmaceutical commercials for BMI TV (USA), Kanal 11 (STIM Films, Sweden), Grassmen documentaries (UK), Pitbulls and Parolees (US Reality Show), Millionaire Matchmaker (US Reality Show), and Ryder Cup promo (Sky Sports/ Adelphoi Music, London). As a solo artist Richard has released 5 albums 'Desert Wind', 'Borealis', 'Meet Me Halfway', 'The Long Haul', and 'Fire Sale', and signed to UK Label 'Ginger Syrup Records' in 2017. He continues to release material with them and works as an in-house writer for other artists.
