Bio

MARK “BUC” WILLIAMS I was born in upstate near Niagara Fall New York in 1960. I began experimenting with song writing in grade school. In 1978 I moved to Texas and played bass in a country/rock band. In 1981 I recorded my first songs in Nashville produced by former Elvis Presley drummer DJ Fontana. I moved to Nashville in 1983 and lived there for six years. While there I worked in television as a producer and editor. While living in Nashville I had the great pleasure of getting to know many great musicians, singers and songwriters including Dan and Frankie Toler from the Allman Brothers band, Sid Herring from The Gants and Shaun 'Sherrill' Nielsen from Elvis Presley’s band. They all taught me a great deal about the music industry. In 2013 my song “Roses For No Reason” won first place in The St. Jude Children’s Research Songwriting Contest in Dallas Texas. The judges included songwriter/producer Chris Christian, songwriter Robbie Patton and Teresa White. In 2014 my song “The Little Bus” won first place in the Muscle Shoals songwriting contest judged by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Spooner Oldham, part of the legendary Fame Recording Studio’s original “Swampers” recording crew. I currently have several songs being considered by national artists and have had six songs recorded by artists on independent labels around the country. I have most recently had two song placements on the TV series The Young And The Restless. Also a placement on The Tucker Carlson Show. I currently have one of my songs being used on a national radio program. I have had songs on hold from several major recording artists including George Strait, James Westley and several others. I use to host a TV show in Nashville TN, called "Writers Night with Buc Williams". The Nashville Network used it as a sample to launch their own version of the show. I have worked with many of the Nashville recording studios. I was also a winner in the 2017 ISC songwriters contest. (International Songwriters Competition) Out of over 4000 entries in the country music category. My song "Sacrifice" was used to raise money by AGSM, American Gold Star Mothers in Texas and New York. My Song "I'm You" was recorded by The Voice finalist Joshua Vacanti and wife Samantha. My song "It's Not Christmas Without You" has received over 2 million radio plays world wide.
